Week of September 21
Lesson Plans for the Week of Sept 21, 2009
Monday:
- ¬Word of the Week activity
- For today’s class, we will discuss static and dynamic characters. We will take notes, and play a game to help demonstrate this.
Tuesday:
- Today we will begin class with a discussion of a well-written paragraph. This should fit in with what we are discussing with our traits of good writing and extended responses.
- We will then do an activity to help us work on the reading strategy of Prediction.
Wednesday:
- Today’s class will start with a grammar lesson. They will complete a grammar assignment for homework.
- We will review our discussion of a well-written paragraph and tie it in with descriptive writing.
- We will complete a short writing assignment to practice if there is time.
Thursday:
- Today we will begin with an game to help them get into the “descriptive mindset”
- Then we will go to the rainforest room and fill out graphic organizers describing what they see. If they do not finish the graphic organizer in class, it will be due Friday.
Friday:
- Today is Independent Reading day.
