Lit Survey I Research Paper Requirements: - A minimum of 5 sources. - A minimum of 40 note cards. - An outline (with thesis) - A bibliography/work cited - A rough draft - A final copy (5-7pgs) Sources: You must have a minimum of 5 sources. Only one source may be from the internet. Mrs. Griffith or I can help you find sources. Note Cards: A minimum of 40 note cards of information is required. They do not have to be an equal amount from each source. You will be shown the correct way to document the information. The information must be recorded the correct way in order to receive full credit. Outline: An outline will be due several weeks before the actual paper is due. The outline for this paper should be very detailed and it needs to include a Thesis Statement. Bibliography: A proper bibliography, or works cited, page will be required with the rough draft and final copy. Rough Draft: One week before the final copy is due a rough draft will be due. It needs to be typed, double spaced and the correct length of 5 to 7 pages. Prepare the rough draft as if it is your final copy. It must include all of your cited information. When you hand it in everything else must accompany it. Final Copy: The Final copy should be 5 to 7 pages in length and it should include all of the above requirements.(must be typed and double spaced) Topic Your topic must be approved by me before you do any researching. Focus on a topic that deals with American History or American Literature. Be creative and make sure to pick a specific enough topic so that you can give good detailed information. Grading: Late: 5 percentage points for each day late. 5 percentage points for each page short of required length. _____ 25 pt. Required Materials turned in with paper. (5 points for each missing item) _____15pt. Note cards completed correctly and correct number. _____10 pt. Outline and Thesis completed correctly and on time. _____10pt. Rough Draft completed on time. _____45pt Research Paper ______ 10pt Resources are cited correctly and all are used at least once ______ 5 pt Sentence Structure ______ 5 pt Word Choice ______ 5 pt Conventions ______ 5 pt Organization ______ 5 pt Cohesiveness ______ 5 pt Coherent/ Clarity ______ 5 pt At least 10 cited references
