Grading Guidelines
Grading Guidelines
In English 7 assignments are weighted on an
individual basis. Most assignments and quizes are weighted
equally, but large research projects, computer presentations, and
original writing assignments are given twice the value.
Assignments checked for completion only are valued at one half a graded
daily assignment.
PLEASE NOTE: Several students are having difficulty with
the punctuation / grammar assignments from our mini lessons. It
is my responsibility to teach, not to give poor grades, so I would like
the chance to reteach information to those who need it. ANYONE
WHO GETS A "D" OR "F" ON A PUNCTUATION ASSIGNMENT, MAY COME IN BEFORE
OR AFTER SCHOOL FOR INDIVIDUAL HELP AND THEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO THE
ASSIGNMENT AGAIN! I will average
the two grades and then replace the first grade with the average.
The student needs to take the initiative to come in for help. I will
not automatically give second chances without the student asking.
